Spring time in the South is special because everything blooms. And this year the redbud trees outdid themselves in my area. The blooms were a color I’d call Redbud Purple on nature’s paint chart—a vibrant, bold, and long-lasting mauve. The pink dogwoods were spectacular too, in many cases prettier than the white ones suffering from the effects of a few frosty mornings.
But nothing compares to the Tree of Life. What, you’ve never heard of it? Then take a look at Proverbs 3:13-18. “You’re blessed when you meet Lady Wisdom . . . She’s worth far more than money in the bank; her friendship is better than a big salary. Her value exceeds all the trappings of wealth; nothing you could wish for holds a candle to her . . . She’s the very Tree of Life to those who embrace her. Hold her tight—and be blessed!” Now there’s a good reason to be a tree-hugger.
Your turn on this gorgeous Southern-fried Friday. What’s your favorite spring-blooming tree?
