I’m behind on my spring cleaning, say about ten years. But all regrets vanished when I discovered procrastination generates more options. With the current recycling and repurposing trends, what one person considers junk is another’s treasure. Instead of throwing items away, give them a new life. A recent example is my father’s ancient wheelbarrow—bigger than some bathtubs, heavier than your average football player, and containing more metal than most new cars. All I did was drill a few holes in the bottom, shovel in garden soil, and add deer-resistant plants to discourage midnight marauders, aka deer. I call it my Southern-Fried Friday version of raised bed gardening.
What have you recycled or repurposed in recent years?
