If an opportunity existed for too much of a good thing, I witnessed a classic example recently. While on a visit, I entered a living room to sit and talk a while but the sofa and surrounding chairs contained an abundance of decorative pillows. Sixteen to be exact. Question, where do you sit when no vacant space large enough to deposit your backside is available? Do you move pillows aside or squeeze between them? As I pondered the situation, an old country music song played through my mind—something to the effect of knowing when to hold them, fold them, walk away, or run. I chose to stack several pillows beside me and enjoy the visit.
What’s your opinion of decorative pillows—love them a bunch, like a few here and there, or leave them in the store?
