My Childhood Tank

Thanks to the summer heat and humidity, I’m now in phase two of last year’s clean-out-my-garage project. Yep, I still have a ways to go before declaring victory over my indoor junkyard. The good news is I’ve discovered more forgotten treasures, and this one brings to mind the old saying “they don’t make them like they used to.” Built like a tank and weighing more than I care to lift nowadays. Seriously, a kid could play demolition derby riding this heavy metal monster and do some serious damage—like to cars and other people. No wonder we didn’t need helmets back then. Our tricycles were miniature snowplows, pushing everything in front of us to the side.

What was your favorite childhood toy?
