I’m a sunshine girl. Daylight, fun, and chocolate keep me going. When the sun sets, so do my eyelids. But a bunch of people are just the opposite, and most families have at least one of them in their house. Night owls. Yeah, they’re easy to identify. Folks waiting until midnight before shifting into high gear and rolling along at top speed until the early morning hours. Then there’s a smaller hybrid group I call the in-betweeners. Those rare birds who stay up late, rise early, and think sleep is overrated. Bless their hearts.
Thank goodness, a light stronger than the sun exists. Jesus said, “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” (John 12:46) When my in-betweener husband snapped this picture before I was up the other day, one sleepy look at it several hours later put a smile on my face. Despite the thick woods surrounding our house, beams of light broke through the heavy tree canopy and scattered the shadows. What a perfect portrait of what Jesus does in our lives.
Where do you hang out most of the time? In the sunshine, with the night owls, or in-between?
