Do you like reading books? Whether a hot summer Southern-fried Friday or a cool dreary Southern-drenched Sunday, spending the day reading a great book is almost better than chocolate . . . almost. Enjoying a rich chocolate bar while reading a good book on a rainy day is a triple win for me. Diving deep into a captivating story with intriguing characters is a welcomed escape from this world’s craziness. Lately, reading another author’s book is a much appreciated break from writing my own stories. Yes, I’m working on a new book, so once again my computer is my best friend for the next three hundred pages.
Why do I write? Because “God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.” [Psalm 18:24, The Message] Just like an editor revises an author’s words with a pen, God changes lives with his love. My hope and prayer are my inspirational stories put a smile on readers’ faces and encourage them to open their hearts to God’s love, mercy, and grace. Can reading a book change your life? Yes! And other folks seem to agree since God’s Word is a continuous bestseller and banned in some countries.
