I love ferns. Graceful, hardy, shade tolerant, and disliked by deer. What a plant! Every spring their tender new shoots push through the surrounding dead foliage leftover from winter and uncurl as they rise toward the sky. Each time I discover one unfolding its fronds I think of Easter and the resurrection of Jesus. The two angels appearing at his empty tomb said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:5-6
Life from death is the message of Easter. Isn’t it amazing how God reminds us of his gift every spring through his word and nature? May you and your family have a glorious Easter!
