Homegrown

In a few weeks one of the best times in the south occurs. Homegrown tomatoes ripen on the vine. Yippee, hallelujah, and hurray. Fetch your salt shaker and celebrate the glorious summer event by eating one of the tastiest foods on the planet. Forget those tasteless greenhouse imitations and chow down on the equivalent of honey in a red dress. Slice it for a sandwich, quarter it and add a scoop of chicken salad, or eat it whole like an apple. Any way is delicious and worth the annual wait. What’s your favorite way to eat a homegrown tomato?

Congratulations to CC and JG for winning my book giveaway this quarter.
