If you’re fortunate to live near the Great Smoky Mountains, a wonderful treat is available to you over the next few weekends. The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center located in Townsend, Tennessee, is offering free admission days for its neighbors living in surrounding counties. Check out the schedule below.
With the weather improving, take advantage of the offer to visit the center and see its many collections of regional history. Native American and Smoky Mountain cultural exhibits are indoors, including a gallery of early modes of transportation used by mountain folks. Outside is an entire historical village of log cabins, barns, and a church collected from the area and decorated inside as they appeared in the late 1800s.
