On the fifth week before Christmas, my true love gave to me—a laundry basket full of dirty clothes. No, I’m not kidding, and I added mine to the pile. The previous week of gorgeous fall weather beckoned us outside to complete end-of-year yard clean-up. Based on this week’s frigid temperatures, we made a timely decision. Santa Claus and his reindeer may enjoy frosty mornings and chilly nights, but I don’t. My preference leans toward staying inside and doing my Christmas shopping online in between loads of laundry.
