Christmas Tree Memories

When do I know Christmas is only a few weeks away? The annual Christmas tree lot appears on the busiest corner in town. As a child, selecting the family tree was an adventure through a miniature forest of pine, fir, and cedar. I loved the woodsy smell the tree brought inside our house from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. Over the years our decorations remained the same childhood favorites, and I found a box of them while organizing my garage museum this summer. Strings of large candle flame-shaped bulbs in multiple colors might be out of style nowadays, but they sure bring back precious memories of great times with my family. What type of lights sparkle on your Christmas tree this year—single or multi-color, miniature or larger, twinkle or not?
